Nothing happens when I click on url links for web pages that are part of a
posted message. Yet, if I make a note of the url and then go on the Net and
key it in, the web page comes up. Being real new to XP, I must be doing
something wrong. Can someone help, please?

TIA -- Dan

Are the links that you click "highlighted"? If not you
have to copy and paste in the address bar.

Click Start | Run | "regsvr32 /i urlmon"

If this does not help, run iefix.exe
If this does not help, run this fix: Based on MSKB article:
http://mvps.org/sramesh2k/utils/IEFix.exe

Manual procedure: (Microsoft Knowledge article link)

This would appear to be as a result of one of the updates
but I can't find out which one. The way that I now work
around this is to have a web browser open and then when
reading my mail and I click on the links sent to me they
work. You can also try these. go>start\run and type in
regsvr32 /i urlmon.dll
regsvr32 /i actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 /i shdocvw.dll and hit ok or enter after each
one. Make sure you leave a space after regsvr32 and /i .
You can cut and paste to the run line from my post if you
like. Keep smiling.

It should be "regsvr32 actxprxy.dll" instead of "regsvr32 /i actxprxy.dll"

Note that "actxprxy.dll" does not have the DllInstall function. So using
"/i" is useless.
