Links do not load

Recently when I click on a link within the browser, a new ie page starts to
open but without a URL in the address field and the page doesn't fully open.
Any help is appreciated.

I have followed the steps in the article 281679, reinstalled IE6 and Windows
and still have the problem. I have also used your fix Ramesh and it's no
better.Any other ideas would be appreciated. Thanks for the assistance

Hi Steve,

Are you using pop-up killers? If so, try disabling them. To test with,
disable all third-party browser extensions and scan the system for spyware.
Use Ad-Aware (www.lavasoftusa.com) to scan.
* Update the pattern file first, using "WebUpdate" feature *

Also, post what OS you have.

I have disabled Popup Stopper that has run for a year with no change in this
condition. I ran Spybot last night with no change. The OS is 98 Sec Ed. Not
familiar with the WebUpdate feature. Is that a new Win version feature? It
appears this problem is fairly widespread though I have run this system for
over a year with no indication of this problem, until now.
