The "Links" folder which holds the links the show on the toobar has
disappeared in certain places. The toolbar is there, but if I click "Add
Link" and want to add it to "Links" so it will be in the toolbar, there is no
"Links" listed. Same in "Organize Bookmarks". Any ideas?

Hi mcfojr :-)

RIght-click any blank area on the IE toolbar and verify that there is a
check next to Links. If the Toggle Images.exe link is not visible on the
Links toolbar, click the arrow with two angle brackets on the far right-side
of the Links toolbar.
or......

Go to IE>View>Toolbars> and scheck Links Toolbar, see if it returns
Then lock the toolbars

Go to Tool >Internet Options >Advanced tab
UNcheck"Enable Personalized Favorites Menu"
Click on Apply then click OK.

or..

Shoe All Items on the Start Menu or Favorites Menu

and....

Display all the links on the favorites menu

Open Registry Editor and navigate to this location:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders]
In the right-pane, double-click "Favorites" and copy the value and post it
here.

The correct value should be: "%USERPROFILE%\Favorites"

or........................

Use FolderRedirector utility and reset the shell folder paths for Favorites
to the default values (both user shell folders and shell folders registry
keys)

Using FolderRedirector utility to redirect special folders in Windows XP:
http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/folderredirector.htm

In XP..there is a local user policy for Favorites, and there is a check box
to delete the Favorites and only use the Favorites provided in the policy.
Check to be sure this setting is not selected.

It might be an incorrect Registry setting:

You can change the value of Favorites in the Registry in these
two keys: (ignore the second if the value is not there)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell
Folders

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders

also..

It could also be that the Favorites folder is corrupted and you will need to
create a new one:

Create a new Favorites folder as per the instructions here

Hope this helps
