I have a set of vertical link buttons that link to the other pages in my
site. The show up on my local machine and change color when I rollover them
in preview mode but when I look at the site on the web they don't appear as
buttons, they are only text. They function correctly other than the look and
the fact that they don't change color, but they do direct you to the right
page. I have tried synching the local to the remote but that doesn't seem to
help....I also see an extra page on the remote site that is not in my local
site: index.html(says it's home page),and there is also index.htm. I have
index.htm(home page)

Actually, index.html is the home page on the server. It gets renamed when you publish.

So, in your "local" web right click index.htm and rename it to index.html.
When prompted to update links click OK or Yes.

Then recalculate hyperlinks. Tools > Recalculate hyperlinks.
Then Publish the entire web.

Then delete index.htm from the server.

Steve, thanks for the info on htm-html. that helps a bit, but I still have
the problem with the buttons...they show on my local site but not on the
server. Text only on website, no buttons. I'm really lost here.
www.cedarbrookcafe.com. Please help.

Also, when I change the button style, it works fine, but when I change it
back it is just text again.

I see buttons at http://www.cedarbrookcafe.com/
- clear your browser cache or refresh the page

I have been in contact with the hosting company who apparently has changed
the buttons trying to see what's going on. The original buttons matched the
satin theme. Clearing the cache would not explain why I have the same
display on three separate computers here. If I change the button style it
works fine this is only a problem if I change back to the original satin
theme buttons. I am thinking that the only thing I can do is to change the
theme, completely remove the current theme files, (as these might be
corrupted?). And then change back. If someone could give very explicit
instructions on how to completely remove theme files from both the local site
and the published one, I would appreciate it.

To remove the theme use Format Theme (select No Theme) for All pages and apply

To apply the theme use Format Theme (select Satin - vivid) for All pages and apply

Then run Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks

I just looked at the original satin theme and as installed it works fine for me
- your site is using a theme named copy-of-satin
(your editing of the theme may have corrupted it )

Yes I see your host applied sandstone as a custom theme for your nav bars

To repair your satin theme try running a repair or reinstall of FP
