The links are probably part of your formulae, as in give
me the total of cell A1 from file1 plus cell A1 from
file2. You will need to replace the link - the file name -
with some other reference or delete the file reference.
You can do a find / replace to update the file reference
if you are changing the reference. If you are deleting
the reference you will need to update your formulae.
It will take you a while, if there are many instances of
the file link and you are not changing it (you can use the
change link feature under edit / links / change source)
