Links bar problem

O

Obiwan

Hello,

first of all, sorry if I make mistakes but I am not english ;-)

I have a problem with Internet Explorer 6.0.3790 (SP1).
Indeed, I have modified the default view of IE, to have a view over 4 lines.
First line : File, Edit, View...
Second Line : Back, Stop, Refresh button...
Third Line : Adress Bar
Fourth Line : Links bar.

My problem is that sometimes my Links bar disappeared with no reason (and
then it's like in the default view, the Links bar is on the same line of the
Adress Bar.)
And, my favorites in this Links bar are automatically reorganized by Name...

Have you ever seen this problem ?
Thanks a lot.

Once you get your tool bar back in place, right click on the mouse and check
"Lock the Toolbars". It should stay.
As for the Links (Favorites) sorted by "Name" it is normal. Right click on
mouse, while in the Links (Favorites) folder gives the ability to "Sort by
Name"

Thanks, I know that part:) problem is I want them back "my way" (like they
always were) not in alphabetical order and it appears that once you sort them
they cannot be changed again.....I do that and next time they are right back
sorted bt name......

That is one reason I use Netscape 8 most of the time. I can setup my
"bookmarks" the way I want to have them and the order I want them. The 1st
time in a couple of months I have used IE was when I saw your post and
wanted to make sure I remembered the way it worked.
I used Netscape long before there was an IE. I have always preferred it.

I think you are right, once you "sort by name" it stays that way. I do know
if I import my Netscape bookmarks to IE it sorts them A-Z, without telling
it to.
In Netscape I have sorted inside of the bookmark folders, but the folders
themselves, they are shown on the toolbar in the order I want them to be in.
If they were to change I would be lost.

How long have you been out? I was discharged a long time ago,June of '74.

Never forget that your weapon was made by the lowest bidder.
Teamwork is essential; it gives the enemy other people to shoot at.
