Links bar icons disappear after delete temporary files

Hello everybody:
Does anybody know how to prevent this? In "Internet options",
when the temp files are deleted, all the custom icons for URLs in my
links page change to the generic IE icons. Copying the icon files
from the temporary files folder (for backup) loses the attached URL
data and saved them as bitmaps. There's NOTHING about this on MS's
knowledge base. If anybody has any suggestions, I would really
appreciate it. Thanks.

Favicons are only temporary until cleared from your cache.
To make them permanent:
