I am linked an excel sheet with microsoft access. The Excel sheet contains a
column named Part No
It has data like this
Part No
0P6926
2407602011
0P10664
0P6941
2PBNH12
2513101010
4325989898
After linking Access is not able to determine the type of data like
2407602011 and instead it has "NUM!".The type in Excel for this column is
general and after linking the data type becomes TEXT .PLease help me out
..2ndly Can i delete some linked record with the help of Access ?e.g i have an
excelsheet linked with access.I want to delete some data from excel with the
help of query in access can i do that?

There's no simple solution to this. One effective approach is to prefix
each part number with an apostrophe, e.g.

'0P6926
'2407602011
'2PBNH12

This forces Excel and Access to treat them all as text. (The apostrophe
is not needed if the value cannot be interpreted as a number.)

In up-to-date current versions of Access, it's not possible to use a
query to delete data in a linked Excel sheet. There are various
work-rounds; probably the simplest is to import the data, modify it, and
then export to a new Excel sheet.
