linking win pic & fax viewer to newsgroup reader

i have forte agent 3.1 newsgroup reader. when i try and open a jpg file it
says there is no associated program to open that type of file. how do i
associate that application. it asks for a pathname to the viewer, but i cant
find it. i have searched all through the program list and hard drive. my old
computer associated it automatically. how can i fix this?

When you double-click on a file, if there is no application associated,
it brings up a dialog box to allow you to choose which application to
use. At the bottom of that box, there is a checkbox to "always use
this application".

Double-click on a .jpg file and, when the dialog box comes up, check the
"always" box and then select the desired viewing program. Then click
OK, and your problem should be solved.
