Greetings - I am attempting to embed a chart in ppt.
However, when selecting the Paste Special...feature the
Link... option is greyed-out. I can add the object from
the Insert --> Object pulldown menu selection, but the
charts gets distorted. Is this the normal process for
embedding objects in ppt?

I am wondering if I need to enable OLE or something. I am
running Windows 2000 and Office XP.

Thank you in advance for your advice. Bill

Bill,

I've never had luck linking the actual chart; instead, I
insert a chart, link the underlying data using Paste
Link. Just be aware that to refresh, you have to
doubleclick and click out.

Hope this helps.

What did you copy in Excel -- a chart, a chartsheet, some data, the
Excel file itself from Windows, something else?

And just to clarify, when you're in Paste Special in PPT, do you mean
the Paste Link option is greyed out?
