Hi again Russel - I am yet another person with exactly this problem
Again, running on 64bit Vista and again Outlook Address Book never appears
as a contacts manager in WFS, even though both installed with default
settings & all features of both working perfectly in isolation .
Office 2007 is a 32 bit app even on 64 bit Vista, so presume outlook
address book handing by WFS should work the same as on 32 bit version of
Vista?
Is there anyone out there who has managed to use Outlook Address book as
the
contact manager in WFS under Vista 64bit? I have read several threads
where
the same problem is raised, but none so far offer solutions...

Not that I know of. x64 is a different beast altogether when it comes to
configuring Outlook profiles.

Hi Russ,
What you say holds true for all the machines in my office (about a
dozen)
except for 3 of them. 2 are WinXP machines, and 1 is Vista Businiess
x64.
They all have had Office 2007 installed fresh, but Windows fax still
defaults
to WAB or Windows Contacts on the Vista machine. Outlook is installed
correctly and OAB is setup correctly...we are running Exchange 2003
server
as
well. I have been trying for days to get this working as it should and
cannot. I have uninstall Office completely and reinstalled fresh. Is
there
anyplace I can go in the registry to force this to work?
:
Installing Outlook and configuring the Outlook Address Book correctly
is
all
that is required for WFS to use your Outlook Contacts as its data
source.
Confirm that you have done both. If so, you would be the first to
report
such behavior.

Which program is set as your default Contact Manager for Vista?
Hello Russ,
Thank you for the suggestion. We assume you are referring to the
settings
under 'Control Panel > Programs > Default Programs > Set Default
Programs'? Here we have set Outlook 2007 as the default for all its
file
types and protocols, but still no Outlook contacts in 'Fax and Scan'
or
'Windows Mail'. We also searched for "default contact manger" in
Windows
Vista help, but it doesn't seem to provide any references to a
'contact
manger' of any type. Maybe we are barking up the wrong tree, any
further
suggestions?
