Linking to documents

I have some word files in a shared folder on my network e.g h:\shared\new.do

I am trying to create a link to this document so that I can send the link to users via e-mail, I want users to be able to recieve the link only and not an attatched copy of the documents

I cannot find the function to do this can anyone help.
 
Create a shortcut to the documents and put that in the email. To create the
shortcut, right click on the document in Windows Explorer.
