Total novice taking first steps with Windows Movie Maker ..... and with PC100E Sony

Sony make whatosever no mention of linking Camera to a PC in the instructions, only to a TV, things have obviously moved on since we bought the camera in 2001 ....

Am I right in thinking that I need an S-Video cable, same both ends is it were ?

There's an S-Video (4 round-pins, plus one oblong, yes ?) socket on the camera, and a similar one on what I take to be the Video Card, since the exit for the screen comes off just next door. There's also a 3x8 and 2x2 socket on the PC, so 24-pin and 4-pin on the same plug apparently

Which is the best way to transfer, and is a Video card such as a GeForce FX5200 adequate/compatible with what I'm trying to do

Many thanks

It would appear to be an analog camcorder and as such either your graphics
card will have to be VIVO compatible (video in and video out) or you will
have to purchase an analog capture card. Very few graphics cards have VIVO
capability. Video in is NOT the same as Video OUT.

Should your card not prove to be VIVO capable, look at www.dvdrhelp.com for
different reviews of analog capture hardware.
