linking problem

I am having problems with IE6 linking properly for some, but not all web pages.
For the problem pages, many of which are for mainstream websites, I get the
“the page cannot be displayed†error message.
I also often get “object has moved here†and “here†leads to the same error
message.
This has been happening for over a month now.
As best as I can recall, it appears to have started after I loaded a lot of
new software.
Although none of the new software is directly internet related, the programs
do access the internet.
I suspect that one of the programs has messed up my internet settings, but
don’t have a clue as to how.
My main suspect is BeyondTV which does a lot of internet accessing.
Any ideas as to how to find the problem short of reloading IE?
I’m running a fully updated version of IE 6 on a fully updated version of
WinXP Pro.

I went to the site on Microsoft to see how to fix the chaos caused by a
sloppy update. I have been typing in my addresses in google to get around and
will continue to do this until I have the time to devote to patching
microsoft's mistake. Sorry, I'm whining, but I hate to take time for stuff
like this.

Hi,
If running Windows XP and IE6, these problems are probably being caused by
the MS06-015 Update (Released April 11.) Usually (for example) www.yahoo.com
won't work but
http://www.yahoo.com will connect. Clicking on a Favorite will work.

If you have HPs Share to Web software installed, download and run the VBS
file "HP's Share-to-Web software - Fix " at
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm Line 383.

If Share to Web is not installed, that fix doesn't work, or simply to read
more, see:

Hope this helps,
Don
