I'm trying to make a slide show presentation with music playing. I've been able to accomplish this when I play the powerpoint on my computer, but when I burned it to a CD and played it in another computer, the music didn't play. Any suggestions?

What kind of sound file is it?

Only a .wav file may be embedded into PPT and the default is 100K files get
embedded (you can raise this to 50,000k : TOOLS >> OPTIONS >> GENERAL tab).
So if you used a .wav file to big or another format you need to send the
audio file with the PPT file to work.

I appreciate seeing your discussion...I want to do this exact same thing (embedding music songs in a PPT file). And I obviously ran into the same problem. So now I'm looking for help on how to convert a CDA file to a WAV file? Is that even possible? You see, I want to embed a couple songs that are on a CD.

But perhaps I have another option, based on what Troy wrote. I also want to burn this PPT show to a CD. So can I also burn the song files along with the PPT on the CD? And then will the PPT show will know where to find the sound file when it is prompted to play?

Thanks for any help I can have!

You can convert your CD audio files to WAV:

http://www.indezine.com/products/sound/conversion.html

And you can embed WAV files of any size within your presentation if you
insert them as transition sounds. Just use your chosen WAV as a transition
sound for the first slide and check the Loop option.
