Need help! Its a little confusing, I'll do my best to
clarify....

I have three excel files I'm dealing with, File A, File
B, and File C.

Cell A6 in File A is linking to cell A6 in File C. File
B also has cell A6 linking to cell A6 in File C.

When I open File A, I click "don't update links" and the
valus are how I want them to read.

When I open File B, I click "don't update links" because
the cells they point to no longer display the desired
numbers.

PROBLEM--- When I flip back to File A, all the links are
updated with the values in File B. File A doesn't even
link to File B, it links to C. Huh???????

Scott,

I can't reproduce your situation with Excel 2002. In file A and in file B,
cell A6, I have:

='C:\test\[C.xls]Sheet1'!$A$6

If I close all the files, then open C, change cell A6, then save and close,
then open A and B with "Don't Update," the original data remains.

Yep, thats what I have been running into, I appreciate
your reply, thanks
