Is there a function where an action item (appointment or
task) is generated when a message if flagged for follow
up and assigned a date/time? I looked in help and all
the options and couldn't find anything.

define "action item" - you can set reminders to alert you when an item is
due. if you want to open another message or something you'll need to use a
3rd party utility or code.

Diane,

By "action item" I meant the creation of a new
appointment or task in outlook. I would like to be able
to use the calender or tasks to keep track of what I need
to do instead of adding a new place to look (i.e., the
For Follow Up folder). I understand the use of the
reminder. However, it's functionality falls short of the
prioritized list available in the Task area. If the
function isn't available, I would simply create a task to
revist the For Follow Up folder on a particular
periodicity.
