Dave

I copied my outlook.pst file from my old computer to my
new one - to a different directory with my user files for
easier backup.

I can open each of the folders, contacts, calendar,
inbox, etc. and view all of the contents okay. The
problem is when I start a new e-mail message and press
the 'To:' button I get an error that says "The address
list count not be displayed. The Contacts folder
associated with this address list ...

I've gone into E-mail Accounts and tried to add as well
as change the addres book to no avail. I had my
outlook.pst file in a different directory on the old
computer and didn't have this problem.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Jocelyn,

I have a similar problem. I am using MSOffice XP (Outlook 2002). Here is
my situation:

When I start a new email and click the "To:" button there is no Contacts
folder to choose addresses from.

My contacts has about 200 entries that I imported from my Palm pilot.

The only way for me to email any of my contacts is by accessing the contacts
folder then clicking the email icon at the top.

I should be able to choose contacts from the "To: button.

When I right-click on the Contacts folder and then select properties, the
check box "Show this folder as an e-mail address book" is grayed out
(disabled).

How do I enable this?

If I can just get a check in that box...I will be able to choose from my
Conacts from the "To" button

Thanks.

What version of Outlook are you using, and if 98 or 2000, what mail
support mode? If you're not sure, look at the second line of Help |
About Microsoft Outlook -- it should say "Internet Mail Only" or
"Corporate/Workgroup". (Outlook 97, 2002, and 2003 don't have separate
modes.)

See if the information in the following MSKB article helps:

Jocelyn:

I'm using Outlook 2002. I checked the MSKB that you
suggested for Derrick Woo and it did not work. I get the
same message when I click on the To: button. For some
reason I can't get my Contacts to link as an Address Book.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Dave

Please list the exact steps you've personally taken to try to solve
this...maybe I can help figure out what's missing.
