I have a PDF file in my website directory that I would like to link to on the
Home page. I set up the link but when I click on it it says that it is
opening the PDF file, then says Done and nothing has happened. I have FP
2003. Any suggestions?

THanks

David

The website is www.passportcarpets.com. The actual link is
www.passportcarpets.com/passport catalog.pdf. When I went to that page just
now, Adobe opened and everything work smoothly. I have taken the links off
the page because it is a business page and I dont want links on a live page
that dont work.

Could it be that Adobe just would not open on my computer last night when I
was working on it or is there something else you need to do to make Adobe
start up?

Thanks

It worked fine for me. If it's working now for you then the problem might
have been with Acrobat Reader. Try it on another PC and see if it's ok
there.

So, if I can open the page here then the link on the website should have
worked as well? There is nothing special that you need to do to make Adobe
wakeup and recognize the page?

I will reinstall the hyperlink on the website and see if it works.

Thanks

No, nothing special. Just link to the PDF file and as long as the visitor
has Acrobat Reader it will work. You might want to include a note that your
need Adobe Acrobat to view the file.

Take the space out of the file name. You will have inconsistent results if
you leave it in.

Thanks for the help. I'll try it again and see what happens. I'll be sure
to include the note.

Thanks again.

Adobe reader 6.xxx had some problems opening PDF files at times with the IE7
beta and RC. For me, upgrading to the Adobe reader 7.xx fixed that. Not sure
if that is your problem or not, and I don't know if it affected IE6 with the
patches or not, since I have been running IE7 for about 2 months.

Good catch - I missed that. Adober reader sometimes barfs on those.
