I linked a word table into PowerPoint, on Save it changes size. How do I
stop this? (Prior to save the size is fine, fits on page, no problem.)

A couple of questions:

What version of PowerPoint/Word?

How, exactly, step-by-baby-step, did you link the Word table into PPT?
There are a couple ways of doing it. They sometimes behave differently.

PowerPoint 2003

I had the word document open, copied what I wanted, switched to PowerPoint
and did Paste Special, Link, Word document.

Do you first save the Word doc before doing the Copy and PasteSpecial?

PPT 2003 has this odd habit of not requiring that you do this but consider: what
is it linked TO if there's no file saved?

Still, either way, I can't repro this; don't take that wrong. It just means
that it's not happening here. I know it's happened to other people too though,
both with Word and Excel.

Karin,
Like Steve I tried to make the link go nuts by lots of bad behavior
like changing the zoom factor and I can't get it to break either. Have
you tried turning down Hardware acceleration a click or two?

Can you check the exact size in Format object + Size tab prior to
saving and tell us if that changes?

Hi -- I haven't forgotten this request for help (and I still have the
problem) but I was out of town. I will check for this data on Monday and
reply again.

I think I figured it out.

The Word document is a table. When I select only a portion of the table and
paste it, it changes size automatically on save. If I split the table (so I
then have multiple tables containing only the data I want on a slide), and
then select the entire table and paste, it does not change size.
