Hello Al

I have a presentation with sound files that are located in a directory. The presentation was created in PPT97 on another machine. When I run the presentation the sound does not play. If I select the sound file to run in normal view, an error message says it cannot find the sound file and the path is that of the other machine. I am using PPT2002 and running the presentation off a cd

Is there anyway to re-point the sound file to the correct path

Eventually this presentation will be packaged on an auto-run cd. How can I have the sound files so that this problem wont occur when other people view the presentation. I would like to retain the sound files in a seperate directory if possible

Thanks in advance.

Keeping the sound files in a separate folder/directory is the source of the
problem. Put all files in the same folder as the presentation. Then delete
and recreate the links. The links will be "relative" and PowerPoint will be
able to locate them. Now when you move the presentation to a CD, another
system, or another hard drive, continue to keep everything together in a
single folder.
