Linked Files Unavailable and Can't be Updated

I have a PP presentation with 53 slides each having 2 to 5 links to
Excel spreadsheet charts, graphs and other cells from 6 different
Excel documents. I update the spreadsheets every month, then update
the links when I open the PP presentation. Sometimes I get the
"Linked Files Unavailable" error message, but I'm at a loss, because I
have no way of knowing which of the 100's of links are unavailable.
The only thing to do is check each link individually to find which one
is the culprit. It usually happens when I may have repositioned a
chart in the Excel doc, without realizing it. Does anyone know how to
search for the broken links?

If you're using PPT 2003 or earlier, try FixLinks
http://www.pptools.com/fixlinks/

That'll at least tell you if the problem's due to PPT being unable to find the
files involved.

If PPT can find the file but not the linked chart within the file, that's a
different matter. Are the charts on worksheets or on chartsheets?
