Linked Excel File ranges to Powerpoint slides

I need to link certain RANGES with a workbook into a Powerpoint presentation slide so that I can enter all the data in the workbook and it will automatically update my presentation. If I link the worksheet and it has various other sheets with information which also needs to be presented, everytime I update the link, all the slides convert to the slide I last saved. Can anyone help me on this???

This is how it normally works if you select the content you want to link in Excel,
copy it, then Edit, Paste Special, Link into PowerPoint.

Have you tried it that way?
