Linked Cells

Hi:

I have a cell linked with another file in a different location;

ex: currentfile!E4=G:\\fileA!BSheet!E5+fileA!Bheet!E6

I would like to remove the link with fileA, keep the formula, change it to
one of the sheets in my currentfile without renaming the sheet that I want to
have the new link; I do not have BSheet in my currentfile!

If you rename for example the sheet from my currentfile to BSheet is working!

Does it make sense?

Thanks,

Dan

I'm not sure I follow what you are asking. If you want your formula to refer
to (say) Sheet7 in the current file, you just amend the formula in E4 to be
=Sheet7!E5+Sheet7!E6

Hi Stephen:

Thanks!

The problem is that the entire sheet is based on the link with file/sheet
from G:\ location; the idea is to removke the link? with file/sheet from G:\
and do the new one within the cuurent file/sheet1 with the currentfile/sheet2?

Thanks,

Dan

OK, now I understand. You could use Search and Replace on each sheet in
turn, searching for "G:\\fileA!BSheet" and replacing with "Sheet7" (or
whatever your actual references are). One operation, Replace All, will do
just that on all references on that sheet.

Hi Stephen:

Yes, thanks! it is what I did!

But, again just wondering if it is another way? someone said something about
Add Ins?, I hope do not ask too much! why the Edit, Links, Manual option is
grey?

Thanks,

Dan
