I am working on a website that will have about 8-9 navigation buttons. I
would like to have them smaller so they all go on one line instead of
wrapping to the next line. Can I resize them to make them fit on one line?

The short answer is NO. If you are using navigation
buttons that are supplied by a theme, these buttons are
not sizeable.

If you want to stick with "theme" generated butons, you
will have to pick buttons from a different theme (if you
can find one that will accomplish what you want).

Your other option is to create your own buttons using a
graphics program.
