Can someone please tell me how I can strip two hard
drives. I have two 160GB HD's and I want to link them
together and make them one big HD on windows, so I don't
have to worry about separating files and guessing what HD
it's on. PLEASE HELP, I looked all over the net, and I
can't find anything!
Thanks!!

You only need to travel as far as youre desktop.
Go to run, type:cmd In cmd, type:DiskPart Then type:
list disks Then select, youd type something like:
create volume stripe type:HELP for info in DiskPart
or go to technet at microsoft for more info.

In theory this can be done with XP Professional Edition. However, I was
under the impression that it had to be done before XP was loaded, using the
recovery console run from the XP CDROM. But, I could be wrong about that.

Otherwise, if you have XP Home Edition, you could try making a RAID array
using third-part hardware. If your motherboard supports RAID (and many do),
read the manual for details. Otherwise, think about a PCI adapter card with
RAID on it, and connect the disks to it. In either case, you will likely
have to start with blank drives, or chance losing everything when you form
the RAID array.

However, first think about why you really want one big disk, and how the
heck you plan to backup what is on it. Note that some backup software will
not work on striped/combined/RAIDed disks.

Oh the horror of it all! Two 160G drives and we have not the wherewithal to
deal with 2 drive letters!

How could a RAID array help? If it's RAID Level 0, half the
bits are on each disk. If it's RAID Level 1, all the bits are on both
disks. Neither configuration gives storage space for twice the data
containable by one disk.
