I have seen that there are web pages which when you click on the hyperlink,
it does not go to a completely new web page, but to a small frame which may
contain a brief note which doesn't require a full web page. How do I create
that small whatever you call it and create a link to it? Thanks!

Believe you are referring to a popup

Aren't most of the pop-up blockers allowing user-initiated pop-ups now (and
just blocking the auto-opening ones)? I know Google's blocker is like this.

I'm using a blocker right now - and although I *can* control what comes
through - I let it block everything. I REALLY dislike pop-ups.

The trouble with resting on one's laurels is that eventually you are sitting
on dead branches.

JL,

But does it actually block a popup that you would have to click a link to
open?

I'm confused about what you mean. I can tell when it's blocked a popup and I
can bypass the block if I want. Don't ask me too many questions about it
tho. I just downloaded it yesterday so I'm still playing. But it's terrific
going to About.com and not getting inundated with popups for anything except
that which I'm researching.

It's called Pop-Up Stopper and I'm using the free version.

Ok, go to:
http://www.ycoln-resources.com/resources/scripts/default.asp
Click on any of the IE Icons next to each script, the link should load in a
popup window.

Blocked, but a little sign pops up and says if I *want* to allow it, hold
the CTRL and click on the link again.

Thank you.

I should also add that I can turn off that notification. All I see then is
the international NO sign flash up above the system tray.

All,
Personally, I use the Google pop-up stopper in tandem with the venerable
Panicware Popup Stopper. They are a lethal combination. What Google doesn't
catch, the other one does, and vice-versa. You simply hit CNTL.click to open
hypertext and image links, but man is it ever worth it!
