Hi Steve,

I think as a standard it is opening in Word but inside Internet Explorer.
What I want is to open new Microsoft Word window and open my linked document
in this new, Word windows with all Word features. Is it possible ?

Regards,

Tony

Each user would have to make a registry change on their machine, you can not control this from the
web.

Hi Thomas,

Could you please provide me with more details on exactly what changes have
to be made to registry ? With registry modifications I think it will be
possible to create the small text file which will modify registry for people.

It is for our company intranet, not for the internet. So, I could email
users and advice them to follow my instruction.

Thank you for help.

Regards,

Tony

You will have to wait for someone else to tell you the how.

For an Intranet (your users or admin would need to change all users registries) see

Exactly - the OP *wants* it to open in word, not their browser (re-read the
question!).

Actually it does open in Word (as you will see Word menus) but within the open IE browser window.
