I am running WinXP SP1 and IE 6.0 SP1. On my website
there is a button I should be able to click to open a
file of images. When I click it, nothing happens. There
are no error messages; it simply does nothing. The same
link works fine on other computers.
What I've tried is: I did a selective boot and only
loaded minimum essential services and startup files to
access the internet. I disabled Norton Internet Security
and AntiVirus. I turned off and diabled everything I
could to get the cleanist boot possible. I tried changing
video setting and resolutions. I did a repair
reinstallation of Windows XP and downloaded and installed
all the updates. I have run "sfc /scannow" successfully.
I ran "regsvr32 urlmon.dll. I renamed the "HOST" file. I
tried to run "SFC" without any switches to replace
the "oleaut32.dll" file, as directed in some newgroup
Q&A, but it didn't work.
When trying to run the "SFC" program from Windows, all I
could see was a DOS window flash quickly on the screen.
It flashed too quickly to read. I shelled out to DOS ans
typed in SFC and the DOS window displayed some options,
such as "scannow" and others, to use with "SFC.
I've tried so many different things that I'm sure I'm
leaving out some of the things I've tried to resolve this
issue. Can anyone help me? What should I try next?
Thank you!
