How do I create a link to a word document that can be
opened by the recipient of a message. Note: the recipient
has access to the drive and the permissions have been set
for access.

For ex. G:\Content\Direct\Tech Pubs\test1.doc

I wish to send a link to enable someone to open the above
document.

Thanks

For Plain Text
file://G:\Content\Direct\Tech Pubs\test1.doc
(place the link between < and > when there are spaces)

For HTML
Type a word like Click "Here" where you select "Here" and use Insert->
Hyperlink to assign it a link to the file

Thanks for the reply - however when creating a new message
in Outlook the "insert hyperlink" option is not available!
or can someone tell me where to find it as it is not
obvious from the drop down menu's

Are you using Word or Outlook as the E-mail Editor? Also make sure you are
composing a HTML formatted mail.
