Link thru ODBC

I have a link thru ODBC from my MS Access table to the
table on SQL server.
But, when an additional column was added to the original
table on SQL Server it wasn't reflected on my MS Access
table.

Could anybody clarify why it happened?

Any time you change the source table on the server you have to recreate (or
at least refresh) the link.

May be it's a good idea to do it when my DB is being
opened.
Do you know how to do it by using VB?

I use this procedure to re-create links to SQL Server.

(This eliminates the need to re-name all the tables to strip out dbo_ and it
allows you to point to different versions of the same database easily.)
There is a local Access table (tblODBCTables) that contains the table names
I want to link to on the Server.
Note: the source table name needs the dbo. prefix which is in the code. The
linked table name usualy omits this. .
