done a databese in 2002 and now need to use yhe program in 97
the problem is more than 1 user is using the database, and the file system
of Access 97 is Fat32, witch doesn't work with accesss 2002 file system.
that means, i can't link tables 97 to 2002. only converting
At this point i open at any ideia.
Is it possible to convert and import the tables to 97, every time that you
open the 97 project.??
thank u..

While it is true that Access 97 cannot link to tables in newer versions it has
nothing to do with Fat32 or anything else about the file system. It is just
that the newer versions have a different internal structure very similar to the
way you can't open a Word file created in Word 2003 with Word version 4.

If you want to have mixed front ends linking to a common back end file then the
back end file has to be in the oldest version of the front ends you plan to use.
Newer front ends will have no problem linking to the older file's tables.
