Link problem within MS Word

I have created a simple website with Frontpage 2000 for a small community
group. When I try to connect to it via a link within a Word 2000 document it
opens the default.htm page, but the graphics show as blank boxes with red
crosses, as though the link is faulty. However, if I hit refresh, it loads
perfectly. If I hit the enter site text link on the default.htm page when
the page has not loaded correctly, the links do not operate.

The site is http://homepages.picknowl.com.au/mutts

When the page has not loaded properly (i.e. the graphics are not shown), the
text hyperlink reads on mouseover as
http://homepages.picknowl.com.au/about_us.htm which is incorrect and will
not load. When I hit refresh on the default.htm page and it loads correctly,
the same link reads as http://homepages.picknowl.com.au/mutts/about_us.htm
and it loads correctly.

I have tried putting the link into several diferent word documents, and it
does the same thing every time. It does not do it if the address is typed
directly into Internet Explorer, or if the link is within an email. Does
anyone know what is going on here?

(NB - this site makes no claim to sophistication of design in any way,
either technical or artistic!)
