I'm using IE6 with Windows XP. This weekend I lost the ability to hover the
mouse over a link and see the real web address at the bottom left of the
screen. I tried resetting the IE "advanced options" to the default and
restarting the computer. It didn't help. Any ideas? Thanks much!

Hi,
Two possibilities come to mind.
1. IE> View> (check) Status Bar
2. Internet Options> Advanced> Browsing> (uncheck) Dhow friendly URLs

If the Status Bar won't stay visible, you may need to enable it in Windows
Explorer as well as Internet Explorer.
See: 330216 - Status Bar Is Not Displayed When You Open a New Browser
Window: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;330216

Hope this helps,

Thank you, thank you, thank you! It was indeed the Status Bar. Somehow it
had gotten unchecked (I swear I had nothing to do with it).
