I have to link 52 separate Excel documents to create one report. Can someone

Not necessarily. You can generate output like that at the command
prompt.

If Perl is installed:
perl -le"print qq(Step $_: Link to spreadsheet number $_) for (1..52);"

Or from the Windows shell (assuming the command extensions are enabled):
ECHO OFF
FOR /L %1 IN (1,1,52) DO ECHO Step %1: Link to spreadsheet number %1
ECHO ON

I guess I have too much time on my hands too...
