I see there is no way to automatically link an Office document to an Outlook
contact. Does anyone know of any sample code or add-in that can accomplish
this?

Does Business Contact Manager have this capability?

I see that Office 2007 has even removed the feature allowing you to send a
letter to a contact from the contact form.

Explain more clearly what you want to do. It is not clear from your post.

You can create a new entry in the Journal folder with a link to that file. In Outlook 2007 Beta 2, the Contacts box for linking items to contacts does not appear by default. You will need to turn it on -- Tools | Options | Contact Options | Show Contact Activity Information on All Forms.

I want to track all activities by contact. On the contact form, there is an
Activities tab that automatically lists all Outlook items linked to that
contact. However, I want to include office documents, so I can see if a
letter was sent to the contact. You can manually link an office document to
a contact through Journal, but if it is not automatic, it is not practical.
I am VB certified. I looked to code it, but it does not appear to be easily
done (of course). I have seen this issue arise several times and was hoping
someone had a solution.
