link and import table

I tried to link and import the same table from dbase 5 format. But only
import table got the correct data but not link table. Can anyone help? Are
they supposed to be the same?

They should indeed be the same. Could you give us some more
information? How are they different - different fields, different
number of records, different sort order, same field layout but
different data, or what?
 
The link and import table got the same table structure. However there are
50+ records in import table but only 1 record in link table.

How are you determining this? If you open a Recordset on a linked
table it will show only one record until you do a MoveLast to populate
the entire recordset.
 
I open the table directly in access 97. As simple as double-click on the
table name.
