Sending as new post as my replys to existing "line input" posts are not
being delivered to this group...
Note:Will I get mono output from this setup??.the proper..Mic output will be
mono ..Right...
Also,how will I know correct volume setting when adjusting the pot....Nick

Right. A mc is normally a mono input. Buy a cheap soundcard (USB or
whatever), and you'll get a stereo line in.
Also,how will I know correct volume setting when adjusting the pot....Nick

Trial and Error.

When the track starts clipping (distorting) reduce the volume a little. You
can always normalise the track (make it louder) later on with software such
as Audacity (freeware) or Goldwave (payware).
