Hi!;

I’m facing a printing problem. My company using Ricoh Aficio 270 3 in 1
Photostat machine for printer as well. If the workstation under
administration user privilege, the printing function no problem. However when
we log in the user in limited user mode. When we print, the printing error
will prompts. Even I change the security setting in printer properties to let
everyone to print. However during the limited user mode. The printer still
prompts me error. So I would like to know in Win XP got any other setting
should change. Anyone have the idea?

Thanks & Regards

Give users write access to \windows\system32\spool\printers (or where ever
the spool directory is if you changed this).

I have also seen drivers that attempt to write temp data to %windir%\temp
and this fails for users.

If you haven't fixed your printing problem, here's something else to try. (I
found this post at http://www.mcse.ms/archive63-2006-5-2331331.html). :)

The answer is to change from a DNS name to an IP Address in the Port Settings.

So, as an Admin account, Go To Control Panel.

Printers and Fax's
Right-Click - Properties on your Printer.
Ports Tab
Find the port your printer is using
Click on Configure Port
Change "Printer Name or IP Address" to the IP Address of the Printer.

Click OK.
Click Close

Login to the Limited Account and try again.
