Installed SP@ and now have the following message with my
Local Area Network - "Limited or no connectivity.

Does anyone have a solution for this!!!!!!

Thanks

As far as I know, it's something to do with AOL 9 & Broadband, (if you have
it), & should be ignored, or open 'My Network places', 'My Connections', open
properties of your LAN connection & untick the 'do not show icons' boxes,
then apply!

Thanks for the reply.

Yes I do have Broadband. No longer have AOL and have
uninstalled or deleted all AOL that I can find.

Unticked as suggested, No change.

Tried repair but message says that it cannot be completed
because IP address could not Renewed.

Oh, there is a connection (1394 Connection). I have no
idea what this is.

Does this give you any hints.

Thanks

That is not true! It has nothing to do with AOL or Broadband and removing
the ICON will only make it worse because then you will not know why you are
having a problem.
This problem can often happen on network that uses DHCP and more than one
computer is trying to use the same DHCP IP address.
Start by 'repairing the network connection (right click on the network icon
and you will see a 'repair' tab). If that does not work, reset your Router
if there is one. No need to actually perform hard reset...simply turn it off
and then back on. If there is no router, then power down any and all PC's
that are on this network and then power them back. If none of this works,
return here or better yet, go to 'Microsoft.public.windowsxp.network_web'
and ask there.
