I got a new computer and for some reason, the mouse is not acting like any
other I have ever used. Every task occurs with a single click, often opening
items I don't want to open. When I go into the mouse properties, my only
option is to change the double click speed, but not what I actually want to
double click. I've used XP on several other computers, and even this same
mouse (logitech trackman wheel) with a different computer, and never had this
problem before. I've reloaded the drivers, also. Any ideas?

I feel your pain. The setting to change the mouse from single-clicking
(which I also hate on Windows) to double-clicking is not in the Mouse
Control Panel applet where you would expect it to be.

It is on the first tab in Folder Options! So go there and change the
setting to double-click.
