I had a fairly simple 6 computer network, all running
Win98se using TCP/IP with fixed IP addresses in
192.168.0.... group, with one computer acting as a data
server. Decided to add in a Win XP Home machine and to
make it the data server. Now I can only access the data
server from any 5 of the 6 Win98 machines at a time. If
all 6 Win98 machines are turned on at once then I can not
access the data server on the last machine on which I try
to do so. Turn off 1 of the clients and the 6th machine
can access data server. Turn that machine back on and it
can not access the data server. All clients can see and
access each other even when all 7 machines are on.
Anybody got any ideas?
