I am currently the only user of my PC, and therefore have administrator
rights. If I set up a limited account for someone else on this PC, will that
person be able to access the internet? And if the answer is yes, can they
also download material, or can they only view? What about printing
information from web sites?

I looked at the Help section of Windows XP for answers to these questions,
but was unable to locate them.

Thanks.

Hi Jackpine,

They should be able to do all things you mentioned above.

If you want someone to use a limited account on your machine, you can forget
a lot of games. There are an awful lot of games (especially slightly older
ones) that will not allow you to play them if the account is limited as the
games are 'badly written' and request either registry access (e.g. saved
games) and updates to the Program Files directory. Both of these are
off-limits to a limited account holder. As a result, problems occur with
running the games.

There are ways around it, but they are not always easy to implement and are
not for the faint hearted.

I had limited accounts for my kids for a while, but had to give up on it in
the end and give them full access or they couldn't play the games they
wanted. It was a real pain.

Be warned
Martin
