It is my understanding that a Guest Account by default
does not have access to the internet. However, we have my
son set up using a Limited account, and he no longer can
access the internet either. I could have sworn he could
before. Am I losing it? What could ahve changed? How
can I make it so he can get to the Internet without being
an Adminstrator?
We are running XP Pro and connect through Cable Modem
Thank you!

From your son's account: Go to start - run and type cmd. In the command
window, type ipconfig /all and post your results here. A limited user
certainly can access the Internet (I am right now - it's downright dangerous
to run as an administrator all of the time) so we need to figure out where
things are breaking down.

hi ginni!
try this:
go to networksettings....
go to the tcp/ip perfences....
check the dns addy and the ip´s
if there is nothing in the boxes try to give your pc the
ip you got from your isp. also the dns.
if you don´t know the ip and dns go to the account where
the internet works and look up for settings.
or easier: go to commandline and type in: IPCONFIG and
press enter
then you see the ip and dns.
try this.
if it work´s or not please, write me an e-mail!
hope i could help you
(sorry for bad english! i am from austria and only good
in german!)
