Limit on the number of photos imported into a slideshow?

I have like 400 photos that I put into a slideshow in MM2 (I know no one
wants to see 400 pics of my kids...) and every time I open the file it takes
like until forever for it to open for editing. Then one wrong move and it
hangs. Am I outside a supported user scenario for this app? (I've got .75
GB of memory on a 2.4Ghz machine).

thx for any help and I promise not to make you watch the DVD!

Hello,

Break your project up like into smaller projects like...like then it may
work like.

If i do this is there a way to join the projects back into 1? I guess I just
want to know if the scenario is supported (import/insert 400+ slides into
mm2) for the app. I was hoping there was some setting to not have it do
whatever checks it does when opening the file.

thx

Hello,

Well yes, joining clips is the same as joining stills...you import them and
decide what order and what transition if any you want and then save that as a
file to your computer.

I am not sure what you are looking for in the second part of the above.....if
you want a program that simply makes an AVI file out of stills by simply giving
the program a list of the stills, there is a very good program that creates
true MotionJPeg avi files....I will have to root around for it...I have used it
a few times, its quite efficient but because of the format the AVI file is very
large...sending the result through Movie Maker and saving as DV-AVI (Some
people actually call this format Motion JPeg LOL) the file comes out
considerably compressed with no loss of quality that I could discern...but I'm
as blind as a bat anyway...

If you want it, let me know and I will dig it out and put it up on my website
for you.
