Anyone know the limit on the number of relationships
allowed in Access 2003. I think I hit the limit with a
total of 15 relationships that enforce referential
integrity on one table with other tables. I'm not sure,
though, as when I type in "specifications" on the MS
Access help file, I don't get any information on limits
of relationships.

On a side note - is there a way to do a combined search
on the MS Newsgroup posts? I tried using "limits and
relationships" in the search criteria and it gave me
posts with either "limits" or "relationships".

Thanks,
Phil

I don't think it's a matter of the number of tables, but the number of
indexes in all the linked tables.
In Access 2000 I seem to "hit a wall" at about 20+ tables (all linked to
the "master" table) - but I have never read/heard of an official limit.

Max number of indexes on a table = 32 (specifications)

Each relationship requires an index: Also, Access automatically
creates indexes on fields that start with 'id' etc (unless you
turn that feature off). The indexes used by the relationships
are hidden, and you need to have the correct explicit index to
get the correct relationship? So I would say that 16 relationships
per table is the max Access will allow?

(not tested)

Google allows you to do 'advanced' searches.
