We have kiosk machines (using a 3d party application) that connect to an
outside vender’s webpage for online training. It works fine if any links fall
out of “trusted.com†it will not allow it. But now the powers to be want the
users to practice with office on the same machine and applications does not
fall within the rule of the third party application so while running Office
you can get to the internet and if you do a hyper-link in word to let say
google.com it will go.

Is there a way in group policy to allow access to all the pages to
“trusted.com†but block any other links outside the scope?

Thank you,
Paul

You could configure an ipsec filtering policy on the computers to block
access to all internet access except the IP addresses you configure as the
exception. This may or may not work well depending on the complexity of the
website and how many IP addresses it uses. Another thing to try is to
configure a bogus proxy server for the computer/user in Internet
Explorer/connections/lan settings and then under advanced settings for the
proxy add your authorized website to the exceptions. That would possibly
work only if only Internet Explorer is being used for internet access. If
you happen to be using ISA 2000/2004 for your internet gateway you could
also manage access at the ISA server. --- Steve
