For those who may have not seen it in the general group.

You can install your lightscribe drivers on Vista. Download them from the
Lightscribe website, right click on the set-up program, and choose
"Properties." When the properties box comes up, go to the "Compatibility
tab" click the box and run under winXP SP2.

Then save and close. Next, all you have to do is right click, "Run as
Administrator" and let it install. If you see no action for a couple
minutes, just relax, let it figure itself out. The next thing you will see
is "Program installed"

Burn and label away :-)

Gene:

I have a Pavilion a1020N. After upgrading to Vista, the lightscribe does
not work, but the drive does read/write. I downloaded the vista drivers from
lightscribe.com and I also found a program on HP site. When I attempted to
run these programs, I got the same message "The operating system is not
adequate for running LS_HSI"

I following your instructions to the letter but got the same results. Any
ideas? I have contact HP twice but they do not understand it's a driver
problem. They keep saying it's the program I'm using but I have the program
they recommended (Roxio 9) but without a lightscribe driver, it's not capable
of buring a label.

Thanks

Thank you for replying Richard. However, as I stated in my original post, I
have already gone to the lightscribe website, but when I attempted to run the
setup program to download the software into my computer, I get the error
message "Your operating system is inadequate for running LS_HSI. I also tried
Gene's suggestion to change the Compatibility properies to XP pack 2 and then
run as a administrator. Has anyone had this problem and did you find a
solution.

Has anyone else had a problem like this and they you find a solution? I
would go out and buy another Lightscribe drive but I'm afraid Vista won't
support the new DVD.
