Do you know if the connectors still fits without any problems (because of
the pc board thickness) when using those?

Well there are different thicknesses of PC board, and a
little slack in a connector such that one could push the
pins forwards some before soldering the board to them.

I'd expect it to work fine, but if you found it a problem
you could always finesse the contacts a little, slightly
bend in the mating contact on the other plug.
