Hi,
I've just been given a new Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000 and i'm having a
few problems getting it set up. The software installed fine (including
the update) and then when I plug the camera in I do get a picture. So
far so good. However, I'm having difficulty in getting sound into it.
Any recording (e.g. Sound Recorder, Skype, etc.) sounds muffled and
distant even when I turn the microphone volume right up.
I'm using XP SP2 and have just checked for any updates.
I've just re-installed the motherboard sound drivers.
I've also got the Microphone setting in Volume Control set to Mute.
I think i've had problems recording sound on this box before when I was
testing the motherboard Mic In port with a set of headphones (well,
they're just a microphone in reverse arn't they!?!). I assumed that as
I didn't have a proper microphone that that was my issue then, but this
camera is USB. I'm kinda stumped as to what to try next. Any ideas ...
please?
